I got to photograph the most beautiful family on Sunday. They wanted some family shots and some Senior shots for the oldest girl. They were SO easy going and we just walked around the area. We had a great time in San Juan Capistrano...I didn't realize how cool it was around the train station. I am going to take my kids there on the train someday. Thanks for letting me photograph your family, it was great to meet everyone!!!

The Red Chair

I love this chair! I got it at the famous Pasadena Rose Bowl swap meet a while ago and kind of forgot about it. I bought it for family sessions, thought it would be great for the holidays. Then completely forgot I had it. Well, we cleaned the garage a few weeks ago and I was so happy to "find" it!! I couldn't wait to take a picture of it and then my sweet baby girl came outside to see what we were doing and it was perfect! A princess needs her throne.

Preschool (4's), First Day

Niya was so excited to start school! For 2 reasons, she LOVES her new teacher (who is one of my good friends) and she gets to see all her friends that she has missed over the summer. My Mom was with me to drop her off at school. I just grabbed a few shots. Such a fun day for her.

We are all getting back into the school routine. It's been a long adjustment...my Mom just left yesterday so that has been a lot of fun. This is a really busy week and then next week all should feel right again, we just need to get in the school groove.

I ordered this awesome shirt on Etsy, she'll do any letter! I love it! Check out the other stuff she makes, there are some really cute things for the holidays that are coming up:)

First Day of First Grade

My baby boy is not so baby anymore and he goes to school ALL day now! It has been a hard adjustment (for me:). He could care less he is missing me all day. He loves it! Loves seeing his friends!! Marc was gone for the first day but I was very happy my parents were here to help me on the big day.

One of me with the kids, which is VERY rare. I look SO tired because I am:) Marc and I had just spent the weekend in Washington at Dave Matthews shows and didn't get much sleep.

And we found his desk and all looks good:)!

Niya started preschool on Wed this week...more to come:)

I truly LOVE photographing this family. I love watching the kids grow up and getting to meet the new additions. Every year they all get together and rent a summer house (an amazing house with amazing light!!) and invite me down to document their lives. The grandkids keep getting bigger and there was a new one this year...a 2 month old baby girl. There is another on the way (as you'll see). I can't wait to meet that little one next year!! All the kids are SO great and fun loving. I feel honored that they allow me to come down every year. Thanks so much you guys!! You have the sweetest family.

Can't wait to see you next year:)!

Canvas order

I LOVE when clients order canvases!!! I love getting them in the mail and checking them out. It is such a great way to display pictures in your house. No frame, just a beautiful picture. A few arrived today...but yesterday I got a cool email from the company showing a clip of how they are made. Check it out!!!

When I opened the box today I saw these awesome things. I have tons of canvases in my house...these make me want to order more:)

Mother's Day

Marc was gone for Mother's Day but the kids and I had a great time with friends at the beach. Here are some of the shots from the day...I told you I was behind. Trying to catch up with everything!!

Funny what I find when I download my pocket camera...

These were from February when my Grandparents were visiting. We went to Mac's basketball game and Macguire decorated the house for their Grandma Great's birthday. Complete with pin the nose on the lion:)

We're back!

We had a great time!! I have tons of photos to go through from the trip. Most are from the lake.

But one thing that TN has that I miss SO much is Lightning Storms!! I sat on the balcony of my parents place in Nashville one night and tried to capture the amazing storm. We had 3 good ones while we were there. SO BEAUTIFUL!! As a kid I used to sit outside and watch storms, obviously I haven't grown out of it. We just don't get them on the West Coast.

Here are some of the shots I got, not too bad. I LOVE the last one it is looking over Vanderbilt.

It's good to be home:)
